Pictures...

My wonderfully talented brother Jason just uploaded his pictures from our trip to MI to the internet. I love the reminder of the great times we had while we were out there. Jason takes great pictures of the kids and he (almost) always has his camera so he captures a lot of the memories on film (or disk).
I really miss MI. There is something special about going home and seeing family and friends. I love my brothers so much, and I honestly do NOT have a favorite. They are both so special for different reasons. I am very pleased with how our relationships have turned out. Although I do not let Jason forget all the tormenting he has done to me, you wouldn't know he was such a pest now. He is genuine and loves Jeff, Michael, and Jaye. Big Mike is the same. Jeff is one lucky guy to have married me and to get such great brothers-in-laws. :)
I am still in some ways trying to seek the approval of my older brother, but with every trip home I feel I am attaining it. I almost don't really want full approval, because what would I live for...if I wasn't trying to get it.

Unsure...

I am unsure of how long and how often I will be able to please my public by updating my blog, all I know is that my public is desiring to hear from me, and I am not one to upset my fans.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving...and it was fun, but not a typical Thanksgiving. While growing up Thanksgiving was mom getting up early to make the turkey. Her going to Big Wheel for an early morning deal of 20 boxes of chocolate covered cherries for $5 or something goofy like that. I then would make my brothers mad by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. We would sit down as a family of 5 to dinner around noon or so, where we would give a short testament as to what we were thankful for that year. We would then begin our meal consisting of turkey, stuffing (although we would never eat it back then), corn, bread, cranberries (we didn't really eat those either), mashed potatoes, yams (for my dad), and pumpkin pie for dessert. It was a small Thanksgiving, but we looked forward to it, because it was small, fun, and full of tradition for us. After the meal we would clean up and head into the living room to watch the Detroit Lions play. In the evening we would prepare our house for the next days events...getting the family Christmas tree. Very good times.
As of late Thanksgiving has grown a bit. Jeff's family has now outgrown ALL meeting together for a meal, and we now get together just the siblings, spouses and kids. The WHOLE family still gets together for pie (and they make great pie). This year was different though. We had a beautiful day with snow falling and the wood stove burning, but Jeff was working. It was sad to not have him home. We ate late, not as many family came to the pie gathering, and it just did not have the same Thanksgiving feel. I missed my brothers, my mom, the ignorance of not even trying the stuffing, not saying what we are thankful for, and the socializing that Thanksgiving means to me. These are the random thoughts flying through Bethany's head today, and I am very happy to have had the chance to share them with you today. Thank you.
